Bookstore report

People are not reading as much as they use to--or at all--so say the reports on reading and the Internet and book sales, but I'll tell ya, I've been to my local Barnes & Noble a few times in the last couple of weeks and it's busy! It's New York busy! Lots of people milling about, looking at books, buying books, and hanging around. I love it.

What's your bookstore like? C'mon....time for bookstore reports! (And I hope books are making up at least a portion of your holiday gifts.)

Have a great holiday...!

I bought books as gifts because the recipient had them on their list! They are not writers and do not know I write. They just like to read.

Thank goodness for readers!

I've done virtually all my shopping on-line this year (and, yes, there are books aplenty) but I did wander into Borders a week ago and it was very busy.

I spoke to one of the counter assistants last year and they told me that, of all the Borders branches, Glasgow is by far the busiest at Xmas.

Those reports don't jive with where I live. My book stores--the biggies and the indies--are quite busy. Lines down the aisles! And yes, I'm buying lots of books for my loved ones, but whenever I go into a book store I always seem to take care of my own needs while I'm in there! I can't help it.

My trips to the bookstore for gifts tend to go: "one for them, three for me." Maybe this is why I don't have any room left on my bookshelves ...

Book stores are danger zones for me. I seldom get out of one for under $100.
