Today's show: Jo-Ann Mapson & Debra Ginsberg

On today's show, my guests will be Jo-Ann Mapson, author of Solomon's Oak (Bloomsbury) and Debra Ginsberg, author of The Neighbors are Watching (Shaye Areheart Books). Tune in at 9 a.m. PT at 88.9 KUCI-FM in Southern California, or listen online at www.KUCI.org or at iTunes, news/talk radio.

.........
And a little about quotations. I love quotes. Quotes immortalize writers--perhaps even more than our books do. That's a scary thought. But I love them. Here are a few that I especially relate to, today, as I work my way though my work in progress:

Plot from the murderer's point of view and write from the detective's point of view.
~Erle Stanley Gardner, mystery writer

Layers don't come from subplots, but from additional problems in the protagonist's life.
~Donald Maass, editor and writer

You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.
~Jack London

Hey Barbara,

I've been listening to your show since 2006 via podcast and catch the live broadcasts when I can, it took awhile to know when to tune in since I live on eastern standard time (Noon here is your 9 AM)

Just wanted to say I applaud how you and your guests soldered on despite the technical issues you endured. You, Jo-Ann and Debra handled yourselves well.

It's a credit to your professionalism.

Please have them back on again when the tech headaches are smoothed out, maybe add in a third author for another fiction panel, I love your panel interviews, it feels like I'm right there in the conversation, even via podcast.

Also, Congrats Jo-Ann on your new book! I've been waiting for your new novel, and in fact checked last week to see if one was coming up, but didn't see Soloman's Oak, and it came out in October!

I must've misspelled your name or it just took ages for it to appear online.

I'll to go to your website more often to be more in the know.

Anyway, hope next week goes smoother, and I hope to call in as well, I've got quite a few questions I'd love insider feedback on. I'm a self-apprenticed writer myself, unpublished at the moment, but I'm learning all the time, and

I know in spite of the frustrations, the fun I'm having is worth the hard work.

Thanks for this great resource and solace for writers.

You and Marie done good this year.

All the best,
Taurean
