On my 9/14/06 post, I talked about contests and basically expressed a general disdain for them. Well, The Sobol contest was cancelled. There just weren't enough takers.

This has been a big topic over at http://misssnark.blogspot.com I think the Sobol people even went so far as to attack Miss Snark explicitly in some of their defenses of the contest
I dislike this abuse of dreams and aspirations.
